who we are
Southern Harvest has been a part of the Triangle and Triad communities since 1992, when Tom Meyer co-founded Nana’s Restaurant in Durham—named one of Esquire Magazine’s Best New Restaurants that year. Since then, we have developed multiple restaurant concepts and helped some of the area’s top museums and universities create exceptional, guest-focused dining experiences.
Today, Southern Harvest Hospitality Group operates Sprout Café at the NC Museum of Life & Science, Legal Grounds inside Duke University’s School of Law, and serves as a Preferred Caterer for Duke University Athletics. We are also the in-house caterer for The Matthews House in Cary and the proud owners of Knucklehead BBQ in Mebane. With partnerships at over 80 venues across the Triangle and Triad, we serve more than 200,000 guests annually. In early 2024, we expanded our operations by opening our largest catering kitchen in downtown Mebane, ensuring we can continue delivering high-quality hospitality for years to come.
